The Mountain Home Junior Lady Bombers edged out both Pea Ridge and Gravette for first place, winning the championship at the Anstaff Bank Junior Relays on Friday night at Green Forest.
Mountain Home compiled 79 team points, while Pea Ridge had 72.5 and Gravette 72. Harrison was fourth with 57 and Gentry placed fifth.
The Junior Bombers placed fifth in the boys’ standings with 46 points. Gentry won the championship with 97 points, while Pea Ridge (93) was second, Clinton (82) was third and Gravette (80) was fourth. Yellville-Summit’s boys were sixth with 37 points, ahead of Harrison’s 35.
Mountain Home Junior Lady Bomber Riley Walker racked up first-place finishes in all of the sprint events, winning the 100-meter dash in 13.50 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 28.32 and the 400 in a personal-best 1:03.01. She also won the long jump at a personal-best 15 feet, 111/2 inches.
Kalee Daniel placed eighth in the 800-meter run and sixth in the 1600. Harrison’s Brylie Parker won the 100-meter hurdles, while Yellville-Summit’s Hailey Layton was fifth in the 300 hurdles.
The Junior Lady Bombers won the 4×400 relay with Walker, Courtney Green, Katie Chudej and Alexa Darracq finishing in 4:51.92. Mountain Home placed fourth in the 4×800 relay and fifth in the 4×100.
Mountain Home’s Hope Menendez won the high jump at a personal-best 5 feet, 2 inches, while Parker was second at 5-0. Cotter’s Marie Reed placed eighth in the triple jump at 28-111/4.
Junior Lady Bomber Elizabeth Lewis was fifth in the pole vault at 6-0. Reed was third in the shot put at 33-2, and she was seventh in the discus at 70-0.
Junior Bomber Mica Justman won the 100-meter dash in a personal-best 11.96, while Yellville-Summit’s Colt Painter was fourth and Mountain Home’s Isaac McKay was fifth.
Justman also won the 200 in 25.09, and McKay was third in the 400 in 57.39. Flippin’s Michael Mitchell placed sixth in the 1600.
Yellville-Summit had Tyler Ramey and Painter placed second and seventh, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles, while Ramey won the 300 hurdles in 47.40.
Mountain Home placed third in the 4×100 relay, and Yellville-Summit was sixth. The Junior Bomber team of Luke Foreman, McKay, Justman and Austin Helms placed fourth in the 4×400. Foreman was eighth in the pole vault at 8-0.
Painter and Justman were eighth and ninth, respectively, in the high jump, while Painter and Ramey were third and seventh, respectively, in the long jump. McKay placed fifth in the triple jump at 35-63/4.
