Remember Melisa Arriaga? Sure you do. She’s the softball player for Cedar Hill in Texas who performs a pretty miraculous trick bat flip routine that she used while performing one of the better softball trick shots you’ll ever see. Her off-the-cuff routine launched millions of YouTube hits, which in turn inspired plenty of YouTube dreamers of all shapes and sizes.

One of those dreamers was Matty Du Plessis, an 12-year-old budding golf star and viral video phenom who focuses on golf. Du Plessis decided he would take a chance at his best Arriaga impression with a driver. Tbe results were pretty impressive, as you can see above.

Du Plessis, who was born in Cape Town, South Africa and raised in Hartford before moving to Vermont, has taken to the YouTube airwaves to chronicle his golf training. He employs a first person diary style and is both conversational and unabashedly young, both traits which are needed more in golf.

You know what else golf could use some more of? Wild trick shot routines. Everything’s coming up Matty Du Plessis.
