Mountain Home track and field coach Philip Goodwin said many personal bests were set at the meet, which was the teams’ final tune-up before the conference meet next week.

“We limited the kids’ events to perfect their performances,” Goodwin said. “We had many kids shine in new events and excel in their usual events.”

Harrison cruised to the girls’ championship with 120.5 points, while Western Grove had 70 and Mountain Home had 62. Clinton won the boys’ title with 93 points, while Harrison had 83.5, Yellville-Summit had 82 and Mountain Home notched 70.

Mountain Home’s 4×100 relay team won first place in a time of 56.57 seconds, while Flippin placed third in the 4×400 relay, and Mountain Home was second in the 4×800 event.

Menendez also was second in the pole vault at 6-6, while Cotter’s Samantha Sanchez was fourth in the shot put and Yellville-Summit’s Cassie Jones was fourth in the discus.

Yellville-Summit’s Colt Painter placed second in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 200, while Mountain Home’s Isaac McKay won the 400. Yellville-Summit’s Tyler Ramey and Painter were first and second, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles. Ramey also won the 300 hurdles.

The Yellville-Summit team placed fourth in the 4×100 relay, while the Mountain Home team of Luke Foreman, McKay, Reese Wendfeldt and Jakob Sellers placed second in the 4×400 relay.
