Twelve boys basketball players from the John Williams Basketball Elite Training organization took part in Saturday’s Complete Player Clinic at Charlotte Myers Park.
The exposure event is put on by ESPN national scouting director Paul Biancardi.
Participating players were Brennan Hockaday (North Buncombe), Dalton Reitmeier (Franklin), Spencer Kirkpatrick (Carolina Day), Delan Thomas (Rosman), Ethan Greene (North Buncombe), Max Spurling (Mitchell), Sam Bradley (Veritas Christian Academy), Preston Queen (Reynolds), Cole England (McDowell), Tyler McKinney (North Buncombe), Harper Reese (Rosman) and Luke Rutherford (Carolina Day).
Williams said that former University of North Carolina standout Antawn Jamison spoke at the Complete Player Clinic and later complimented the WNC contingent on its work ethic.
Williams starred at UNC Asheville and was later a member of the Harlem Globetrotters. In addition to his responsibilities with JWB, Williams now coaches the girls team at Asheville Christian Academy.
