SUWANEE, Ga. – Some guys get a new phone for their birthday, some get expensive headphones or even cars; Kobi Jordan-Simmons got a gift that, depending on your perspective, could trump them all.

Jordan-Simmons got a birthday shoutout on Instagram from reigning NBA MVP and world champion Stephen Curry, who has 3.5 million followers.

The payoff?

Jordan Simmons’ added “thousands” of new followers as a result of Curry’s shoutout.

“That was cool,” said Jordan-Simmons, who is ranked No. 6 overall in the ESPN 100. “He kept it up there so I’m adding a lot more followers everyday.”

Jordan-Simmons, who scored 17 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists in the Atlanta Celtics 68-64 win over Team Loaded-VA Thursday at North Gwinett High School, got to know Curry when he attended his Elite Camp at the end of June.

“It was real cool to get a chance to learn from him out there at the camp,” Jordan-Simmons said. “I look at him as a mentor; I definitely feel like that experience added to my game.”
