COTTER – The Cotter Lady Warriors rallied from a five-run deficit to post a 9-7 nonconference victory over the Omaha Lady Eagles on Friday at Lady Warrior Field.
Omaha scored three runs in the second inning and tacked on two more in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.
Cotter (3-9 overall) finally got going with five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Shawna Martin singled to left field to start the rally, and Martin, Marie Reed, Gracie Lance, Hannia Garay and Aubrey Taylor all scored runs in the onslaught.
Omaha scored twice in the fifth for a 7-5 lead, but Cotter answered with two in the fifth and two more in the sixth to take the lead for good.
Rebecca Martin started in the circle for Cotter, while Macie Clawson earned the victory, coming on in relief in the fifth inning.
Shawna Martin and Reed scored two runs each to lead Cotter, while Clawson, Garay, Lance, Taylor and Whitney Barkes each scored once.

The Lady Warriors fell to the Lady Yellowjackets in a 3A-1 East Conference game on Thursday night at Mountain View.
Shawna Martin went 2 for 2 with an RBI to lead Cotter at the plate, while Rebecca Martin was 2 for 2 with a run scored and Taylor was 1 for 2 with a double.
The Lady Warriors are scheduled to host Norfork on April 27.
