LANCASTER – Randy Larrick added more to his legacy at John Glenn on Saturday.
The Muskies’ 25th-year head softball coach won his 450th game at the school following a 10-2 conquest of Circleville at the Lancaster Classic.
He’s averaged 18 wins in his tenure and showing no signs of depreciation. His team improved to 6-1 after two wins on Saturday.
“I’ve had a lot of good players,” Larrick said.
Kate Bass tossed a four-hitter with six strikeouts in the win, getting three runs of support in the seventh inning to pull away.
Alli Hylton cranked a three-run homer, Bre Tetirick doubled with two singles and Kerrie Dolick had three singles to pace the offense.
The Muskies also earned a 7-6 win against defending Division II regional runner-up Logan Elm, as Dolick threw out a runner with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning after the Braves got within a run and had the tying run on third base.
Danae Fields pitched four innings to get the win, while Anne Marie Pickworth tossed three in relief to get the save.
Tetirick, Dolick and Lexi Baker doubled and singled and Jordan Pethtel drove in a pair of runs for John Glenn (6-1).
The Muskies visit Tri-Valley for a key Muskingum Valley League match-up at 5 p.m. on Monday.
