Lisa Pinkston, who spent the past five years as the director of softball operations at the University of Louisville, has been named the new softball coach at Assumption High School.
“Assumption High School is a special program to have the opportunity to lead,” Pinkston said in a news release. “Coming from the University of Louisville, where the facilities and resources were the best in the country, it is exciting to see that Assumption provides the same opportunity at the high school level for female student-athletes to succeed.”
At U of L, Pinkston’s duties included making travel arrangements, scheduling, assisting with marketing and community and alumni relations and organizing camps and clinics.
The former Lisa McMillan was a member of U of L’s inaugural softball team in 2000 and was a four-year captain and starting catcher. She was an assistant coach at Sacred Heart from 2005-06 and the head coach in 2007, posting an 18-18 record.
McMillan replaces Jennifer Hunt, who stepped down after posting a 94-51-2 record over the past four seasons. The Rockets were the Seventh Region runners-up the past two years.
