WAYCROSS, Ga. — The senior Ware County High School cheerleaders performed in the 89th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City Thursday morning.
Ware County cheerleading coach Lindsey Johnson along with seniors Hannah Dickerson, Alexis Cannon, Angel Nelson, Ivey Thrift, Graci Thrift and Ciarra Braucht arrived in New York Saturday to prepare for the event, the official site of the Ware County Gators said. They raised over $12,000 in just three months to make the trip, WCHS Varsity Football Cheerleading posted on Facebook.
The cheerleaders performed with Spirit of America Productions wearing purple and orange uniforms with silver pom poms.
The parade began at 9 a.m. and the girls were behind Hello Kitty.
They even made an appearance on Good Morning America beforehand.

But not to worry, the girls will fly back Friday morning just in time to cheer on the football team in their playoff game against Drew High School at 7:30 Friday night.
