The boys lacrosse team from Highland High School knocked off host Red Hook 11-10 Friday.
Chris Schlappich led the Huskies with four goals and two assists, with backup from Thomas Hollway (three goals), Dylan Cuvelier (three goals, one assist) and Paul Rhodes (one goal).
Kyle Merget led Highland in assists with five.
Dom Bellacicco stopped 12 of Red Hook’s shots.
The Raiders were led by Brandon Voll, John Alessi and Mike Gildersleeve, who each scored two goals. Chipping in were Drew Zarrella (one goal), Max Spagnoli (one goal), Nolan Dalton (one goal, one assist) and Nick Michitsch (one goal, one assist).
Liam Jantzen and Henry Tynes distributed an assist apiece, while Liam Quinlan made 16 saves for Red Hook.
Highland (3-2) plays next at New Paltz at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Red Hook (1-2) travels to Wallkill, also at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Alexandra Hekking scored three goals and Shoshanna Smith added two as host New Paltz fell to Washingtonville 8-6.
Marissa Mayr (one goal) and Marissa DeQuarto (one assist) also contributed.
Gianna LaMarca made four saves for New Paltz.
New Paltz plays at Red Hook at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Carmel 13, Lourdes 10 – The visiting Warriors were led by Danielle Keenan, who scored four goals. Meghan Riccardi and Cat Gallery both scored three, while Grace Rappleyea distributed her first varsity assist.
Gabby Breault made 13 saves in front of the net.
“We discussed opportunities lost after the game,” Lourdes coach Mike Galantich said. “We started off slow and we feel we ran out of time. We’re going to focus on playing a complete game.”
The Warriors (1-2) host Pawling at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Track and field
Beacon swept a tri-meet late Thursday at Ossining, beating the host Pride and Peekskill.
Rayvon Grey won the long jump (22-4) and the triple jump (42-2), while Terrell Davis won the long jump (6-0). Brandon Booker won the 800-meter (2:13.4) and David Adams won the 400 hurdles (63.4). Dominic Reid won the shot put (38-5.75) while Michael Andrews won the discus (118-11).
Jummi Akinwunmi won the girls high jump (4-6) and Leandra Echi won the long jump (16-5) and the 100-meter (13.1). Lauren Hernandez won the 800-meter (3:40.6) and Addie Rutkoske finished first in the 400 hurdles (63.4). Dera Boone won the triple jump (29-6) and Lauren Schneider finished first in the discus (65-4).
