Jay Gohel of host Franklin D. Roosevelt beat Marlboro’s Charles Benfer at first singles 6-1, 6-3 in the Presidents’ 5-0 boys tennis win.
Other winners for Roosevelt (2-0) were Naveen Chowdry and David Tran. Doubles winners for Roosevelt were Kory Schimmelpfennig and Linsky Lundy, and Zack Apuzzo and Cory Gallinger.
New Paltz 5, Rondout Valley 0 — Alessandro Mauceri, Noah Kalus and Shane Paul each won in straight sets as the Huguenots swept the Ganders.
Winning doubles teams for New Paltz were Rees DeTar and Elijah McKee, and Ryan Macaluso and Logan McPherson.
Rhinebeck 3, Millbrook 2 — Megan Heller won at second singles for the visiting Hawks, who beat the Blazers.
Other winners for Rhinebeck were Rachel Tigges and Mitchell Hutchins, and Jack Spencer and Ian Katomski.
Dan Feigelson and Sam Salander each won singles matches in straight sets for Millbrook.
Ossining 5, Beacon 2 — At second doubles, Dustin O’Connell and Ryan Strong won 6-0, 6-1. The fourth doubles duo of Cameron Nettleton and Mark Padoleski won 7-6, 2-6, 11-9.
Beacon (2-6) visits Walter Panas on Monday.
Ellenville 5, Pine Plains 0 — At second singles, host Pine Plains’ Omar Santiago fell to Josue Lorenzo, 6-1, 7-6, 7-3 in a tiebreaker.
Saugerties 4, Highland 1 – Massimiliano Cutugno picked up the Huskies’ lone win at second doubles late Friday. He won two straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
Highland plays at Rondout Valley 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Tucker Hine had eight goals and four assists as host Haldane topped Pawling, 17-4.
Aidan Draper had a goal and four assists for Haldane (5-2). Peter Hoffmann added four goals and an assist. Steven Markey scored his first varsity goal. Dylan Auth made five saves.
For Pawling (1-3), James Comerford had two goals. Anthony Morfea and David McCarthy also tallied. Sean Dazi made 21 saves.
Rondout Valley 11, Millbrook 5 — Ian Olson had three goals as the visiting Blazers fell.
Zeke Kopilak (two goals, one assist), Marcus Garnot (one assist) and Tim Outwater (two assists) also chipped in for Millbrook (4-0). Conor O’Donnell made 21 saves.
Pelham 8, Arlington 5 – Late Friday, the visiting Admirals received goals from Kevin Litchauer, Brendan Sunday, Mike Genualdo, Zack Hyde and Javon Jackson. Riley Carroll added an assist.
Jacob Azukas made nine saves in front of the cage.
“It was a good game,” said Arlington coach Don Connolly, whose Admirals fell to 3-4. “Close throughout. I’m proud of my kids, they’re battling and getting better.”
Arlington will host Brewster at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Our Lady of Lourdes 10, Carmel 9 — Joe Scaglione poured in the winning goal 16 seconds into overtime, and led the Warriors with four goals late Thursday.
Visiting Red Hook beat Millbrook 10-7 on Friday.
Ciara Burud led the Raiders’ charge with four goals, followed by Marist Parr’s three goals. Aleksia Cvijic’s two goals and Mia Michaelides’ tally rounded out Red Hook’s scoring.
Shelby Wilcox made 16 saves for Red Hook (2-1)
Brooke Babbitt, Kaitlyn Daly, Kiri DiCintio, Pat Halpin, Liz Halpin, Sam Szalewicz and Kelly Waters each scored for Millbrook (2-1). Claire Martell made five saves.
“It was a good, hard-played game,” Millbrook coach Jillian Cafarchio said. “We know playing them it’s always going to be intense. We have things to work on, but we’re excited to play them again in the regular season.”
Highland 4, New Paltz 1 — Savannah Caso, Samantha Mazzella, Abigail Munson and Julia Quinn scored for the visiting Huskies, who defeated the Huguenots.
Victoria Steele made seven saves for Highland.
Ala Hekking scored for New Paltz. Gianna LaMarca made 12 saves.
Haldane took a win from Beacon at Southern Dutchess Country Club, 272-288, late Thursday.
Eric Rizzi and Conor Yankovich each shot a 53 at the par-35 course for the Blue Devils.
Beacon’s low scorer was George Bekh, who shot a 50.
Boys track and field
The Pine Plains boys track team picked up an 80-52 win over visiting Rhinebeck late Thursday.
Luis Ayala was a double winner, taking first in both the 400-meter hurdles (69) and the 100/110 hurdles (19.5). Dylan Lawless was also a double winner, taking both the high jump (5-4) and the long jump (18-3 ½).
Rhinebeck’s Chris Cassano was a double winner, taking the 100 (11.8) and the 200 (24.7).
Highland 82, Millbrook 45 — Storm Malone won the 400 intermediate hurdles (62.1) and the 110 high hurdles (14.9) late Thursday.
Millbrook’s Delvin Wood won the 100 (11.1) and the 200 (23.2)
Roosevelt sweeps — Joseph McKeon won the 400 (54.7) and the long jump (20-1) for Roosevelt in a 113-28 win over Highland. McKeon also won the 110 high hurdles in a 133-8 win over Millbrook.
Girls track and field
Late Thursday, the Pine Plains girls track team topped visiting Rhinebeck, 56-46.
Donovan Hughes won both the shot put (27-1) and discus (86-1) for the Bombers. Stephanie Cassens won the 100 (13.5) and the 200 (28.4) for the Hawks.
Highland, Roosevelt top Millbrook — In a tri-meet late Thursday, Roosevelt beat Millbrook 127-8 and Highland beat Millbrook 78-17.
Roosevelt also topped Highland, 105-29.
