Lockeroom’s Jake Berton swings at a pitch during the first game of Mountain Home’s doubleheader sweep of Batesville on Tuesday night at Cooper Park.

Mountain Home Lockeroom rallied on two separate occasions, and the second comeback led the squad to a 4-3 victory over the Batesville Highwaymen in the five-inning nightcap of a doubleheader Tuesday night at Lester White Field at Cooper Park.

Lockeroom stands at 17-6 overall on the season, and coach Lester White’s club returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday when it faces Hollister, Mo., in the Glen Winget Memorial Tournament in Bartlesville, Okla.

Kyle Stephens earned the pitching decision and came through with a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the fourth to regain the lead at 4-3 for Lockeroom.

Brody Ninemire and Jake Berton each walked, and Stephens sliced a hit to left field to bring both home for the lead. Stephens used two groundouts and a strikeout in the fifth to end the game.

Marshall Roberson started on the mound for Lockeroom, allowing one run over two innings. Mountain Home rallied with two in the bottom of the second for a 2-1 lead.

Batesville scored twice in the top of the fourth to retake the lead as Austin Passmore and Levi Horne each supplied RBI singles.

Stephens allowed four hits and two earned runs over three innings in the victory.

Nate Robbins took the loss for Batesville, pitching 32/3 innings, and Chipper Lamb tossed the final one-third of an inning.
