Mountain Home Lockeroom started its trip to Omaha, Neb., on the winning track Wednesday evening.

Left-hander Mason Smith tossed seven strong innings to propel Lockeroom to a 4-2 victory over Gillette, Wyo., Wednesday in American Legion Baseball action at the Decker Sports College World Series Tournament.

Smith struck out five and scattered eight hits over a complete game, while Marshall Roberson and Cole Anderson came through at the plate with three hits each. Austin Jacobelli and Sky-Lar Culver added two hits each.

Hayden Hall drove in a pair of runs, and Culver and Roberson notched one RBI each for Lockeroom, which improved to 10-2 on the season.

Lockeroom scored one run in the top of the third inning and another in the fourth for a 2-0 lead, but Gillette countered with two in the bottom of the fourth to tie the score. Lockeroom tacked on solo tallies in each of the fifth and seventh innings and finished with 11 hits for the game.

Lockeroom was scheduled to face Millard, Neb., Thursday night. Results of that game were not available at press time. The team is scheduled to play two games Friday, facing Aurora, Colo., at 9:30 a.m. and Edmond, Okla., at noon.
