Austin Jacobelli’s two-out base hit in the bottom of the seventh inning drove home the winning run as Mountain Home Lockeroom opened the 56th annual Glen Winget Memorial Tournament at Bartlesville, Okla., with a 4-3 victory over Springfield, Mo., Hillcrest on Thursday night.
Lockeroom had scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning for an early lead, but Hillcrest plated one in the fifth and two more in the sixth to knot the score.
Cole Anderson singled to right field to lead off the bottom of the seventh, and with one out, Hayden Hall singled to left, sending Ryan Czanstkowski — Anderson’s courtesy runner — to third. After the second out of the inning, Jacobelli singled up the middle to bring home the winning run.
Lockeroom is now 18-6 overall on the season and faces Branson, Mo., at 9 a.m. Friday in the tournament. Hall earned the win on the mound in relief of Brody Ninemire. Hall allowed two hits and no runs over the final 12/3 innings. Ninemire struck out four, walked two and allowed three runs — one earned — and five hits over 51/3 innings.
Hall was 3 for 4 with an RBI, Anderson went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Jacobelli and Sky-Lar Culver each added RBIs for Mountain Home.
