Mountain Home Lockeroom pounded 10 hits — three of which were home runs — and edged the Harrison McDonald’s Big Macs 6-5 on Tuesday night at Harrison.
Lockeroom also edged Harrison, 4-3, in the nightcap, improving to 24-11 overall heading into the Zone 2 Senior American Legion District Tournament, which begins Friday afternoon at Cooper Park.
Coach Lester White’s club received homers from Sky-Lar Culver, Brody Ninemire and Hayden Hall in the first game. Culver was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and his fourth homer of the season. Ninemire was 1 for 4 with two RBIs and his third homer of the year. Hall went 2 for 3 with a solo shot, his second of the season.
Ryan Czanstkowski and Mason Kinder split the game on the mound for Lockeroom, with Czanstkowski allowing four earned runs on three hits and three walks over 32/3 innings. Kinder scattered six hits but allowed only one earned run over 31/3 innings.
Hunter Humphrey took the loss for Harrison, giving up just four hits and three walks, but five earned runs, including a two-run homer by Culver and a solo shot by Hall in the first inning. Ninemire’s two-run shot came in the top of the third to extend Mountain Home’s lead to 5-0.
In the second game, Brady Smith worked four innings on the mound, allowing three runs and five hits. Kyle Stephens worked a hitless fifth inning for Lockeroom.
Luke Kruse went 3 for 3 with an RBI, and Hall, Cole Anderson and Ninemire each added RBIs as well.
