The host team of the Brooks Robinson Twin Lakes Classic pulled away late to clinch its pool on Friday night.

The Lockeroom scored six unanswered runs over the fifth and sixth innings to take a 10-2, run-rule victory over Hollister, Mo., in Pool C play on Lester White Field at Cooper Park.

Lockeroom is scheduled to face Benton at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Other quarterfinal games include Pool A champion Pontotoc, Miss., facing wild card Eureka, Mo., at 12:30 p.m., the top two wild card teams, Rogersville, Mo., and Harrison, meeting at 3 p.m., and Pool B champion Blue Springs, Mo., facing wild card Batesville at 5:15 p.m.

Holding a 4-2 edge, Lockeroom pulled away with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Hayden Hall singled, Matt Robbins walked and both scored on a double down the left-field line by Brody Ninemire. After Ninemire’s courtesy runner — Kaeleb Rogers — was bunted to third and Mason Smith walked, Lockeroom pulled off the double steal for a 7-2 lead.

The hosts ended the game via the run-rule with three runs on two hits in the sixth. Cole Anderson walked, Sky-Lar Culver singled and both scored on a triple by Hall. Hall ended the game at 10-2 when he scored on a wild pitch.

Kyle Stephens earned the win on the mound, allowing just four hits and two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings. The right-hander struck out four and hit one batter.

Jacob Porter took the loss for Hollister, allowing nine hits and four walks over five innings in the start.

Culver was 3 for 4 to lead Lockeroom at the plate, while Robbins was 2 for 2 and Hall went 2 for 3 with three RBI.

Lockeroom had three hits in the first inning and scored a pair of runs. Anderson and Culver each singled, and Anderson scored on an error after Culver’s base hit. Culver took third on the error and later scored on a passed ball for a 2-0 lead.

Hollister cut the lead in half as Jack Bekemeier doubled and scored on a single by Braden Newell in the second.

Lockeroom got the run back in the bottom of the second as Ryan Czanstkowski doubled and later came home on a groundout by Quinn Ellison. The hosts extended their lead to 4-1 in the third when Culver tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Hall.

Hollister scored another run in the fourth as Jenner Steele doubled home Collin Cross to make it 4-2.
