Mountain Home Lockeroom wrapped up second place in Zone 2 with an 8-2 victory over Paragould Glen Sain GMC on Monday night at Paragould.
Hayden Hall struck out seven in a complete-game four-hitter, and the right-hander also went 4 for 4 and clubbed a home run in the victory for Mountain Home.
Lockeroom is 22-10 overall and finishes zone play at 6-2, behind only the Jonesboro Ricemen in the standings.
Hall allowed just two unearned runs and did not walk a batter in the victory. At the plate, he had a homer and a double and drove in two runs.
Lockeroom’s Brody Ninemire was 2 for 2, Jake Berton was 2 for 3, and Sky-Lar Culver and Kyle Stephens each went 2 for 4 for Mountain Home, which banged out 16 hits in the win.
Christian Deen took the loss for Paragould, allowing nine hits and five earned runs over 41/3 innings. Matt Campbell allowed three earned runs and seven hits over 22/3 innings.
Lockeroom led 1-0 after Ninemire scored on a groundout by Stephens in the second inning. Mountain Home added two more in the fourth as Ninemire and Stephens each had RBI base hits, and the visitors made it 5-0 in the top of the fifth inning.
Culver doubled and scored on a double by Hall, and Hall scored on a two-bagger by Berton.
Paragould answered with two in the fifth, and Lockeroom put together three in the top of the seventh.
Hall homered to lead off the inning. With one out, Matt Robbins singled home a run, and Stephens later scored on a groundout by Quinn Ellison to make it 8-2.
