Senior guard Jack Logue and junior forward Peyton Wejnert led the No. 12 seed Southern Regional boys basketball team to a 47-45 Shore Conference Tournament first round victory over No. 21 seed Donovan Catholic on Wednesday night.
Logue finished with 15 points while Wejnert added 11 points. Also, Senior forward Eric Ray added nine points, sophomore guard Mark Valeriani had six points and junior guard Ethan Dubois provided four points.
Donovan Catholic junior guard Mike Boice had 13 points and senior guards James Fata and Alex Morte each had eight points.
Red Bank Catholic 62, Manchester 38: Joe Montano had 18 points and Evan Madigan added 13 points as the No. 16 seed Caseys edged the No. 17 seed Hawks (13-6). Eddie Hahn added 10 points and Liam Byrne provided seven points. Manchester’s Israel Almestica had 14 points and Shavar Reynolds added nine points and L.J. Robinson had eight points.
Toms River South 59, Central 56: Khaleel Greene had a team-high 20 points and Tymere Berry added 18 points as the No. 14 seed Indians (15-6) outlasted the No. 19 seed Golden Eagles (11-9). Tyler Fall added 16 points. Central’s John Forrester had a team-high 20 points and Elijah Barnes had 11 points.

Shore 73, Marlboro 47: Senior Dan Largey scored 18 of his career-high 41 points in the first quarter and helped the No. 13 Blue Devils (15-4) to the victory over the No. 20 Mustangs (10-9). The 18 points in a quarter was also a career-high for Largey. Senior Jack Byrne added 12 of his 16 points in the first half and seniors Rob Gialanella and Kevin Bloodgood added six and five points, respectively. Marlboro senior George Elghoul scored six of his 11 points in the first half while seniors Kenny LaRocca and Matt Ringel provided 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Neptune 70, Howell 45: Senior guard Keishawn Kirkwood had 14 points and sophomore guard Barry Brown added 13 points as the No. 10 seed Scarlet Fliers (13-9) edged the No. 23 seed Rebels (10-11). Howell’s Aaron Trimble had a game-high 25 points.
Colts Neck 60, Pinelands 37: Chris O’Reilly scored a team-high 14 points and Lloyd Daniels added 12 points as the No. 9 seed Cougars (13-6) toppled the No. 24 seed Wildcats (11-10). Jordan DeGroot added nine points while Tom O’Reilly and Kyle Gordon each supplied eight points. Pinelands’ David Lunn had a team-high 14 points.
Manasquan 78, Asbury Park 38: Aidan McMenaman had 15 points and Kyle Bradshaw had 13 points as the No. 8 seed Warriors (17-4) defeated the No. 25 seed Blue Bishops (9-9).
Point Beach 59, Matawan 54: Jimmy Panzini had 20 points and Jesse Hill had 18 points as the No. 15 seed Garnet Gulls (16-7) edged the No. 18 seed Huskies (11-10). Matawan’s Mergim Gyjrigi had 13 points and Jason Dunne had nine points
