Franklin senior Kelton Lowry went over the 2,000-yard mark in Friday’s third round of the NCHSAA 2-AA football playoffs.

Lowry (2,008 yards, 28 touchdowns) had 20 carries for 46 yards in a 50-7 loss at Monroe. The three-time defending Western North Carolina Athletic Conference champion Panthers end their season with a 10-4 record.

Lowry has been voted the WNCAC Offensive Player of the Year by the league’s coaches.
