Jeffersonville will present Joe Luce for approval as the new boys basketball coach at its next boarding meeting on May 6.
Luce, who will succeed Matt Pait, went 117-33 during six years at Richmond, winning two Class 4-A sectional titles and a regional championship. He previously coached at Marion, where he led the Giants to the 4-A state title game in 2008 and went 92-30 in five years.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Joe into the Red Devil family,” Jeffersonville athletic director Todd Satterly said in a press release. “He has a tremendous record as a basketball coach and will be an outstanding leader for our program.”
The Greater Clark Board of Trustees must approve the recommendation.
Luce was named the state’s USA Today Coach of the Year in 2015. Richmond went 26-4 and fell to Evansville Reitz in the semistate. He also coached at Fountain Central (29-37 in three seasons) and Benton Central (32-12 in two years).
