Chef of the Week
In sports the term “cookin” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.
This week’s “Chef of the Week” award goes to G.W. Carver (Birmingham, Ala.) linebacker Lyndell “Mack” Wilson after picking off five passes and subsequently taking home MVP honors at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge in Baltimore last weekend.
Wilson intercepted three passes during 1-on-1 drills and two more during 7-on-7.
Wilson was also named to the Top Defensive Performers list and the All-Challenge first-team defense.
Poster of the Week
This week’s Poster of the Week winner is Team Loaded (Va.) guard Damian Knowlin for the sick one-hander he threw down over a defender in a recent game.
Knowlin blew by his man on the left wing and, in no time, he was soaring through the air over a defender who jumped way too late.
Knowlin’s post-poster course of action?
The double muscle flex.
Well played, sir.
Oh No They Didn’t!
This award is reserved for the player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.
This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is Team Wall (N.C.) wing Jalen Johnson for pulling off a between-the-legs dunk… In a game.
That’s right, Johnson managed the dunk contest worthy slam on the break at the Josh Level Classic last week.
This you’ve got to see to believe.
