Madison cannot afford another loss after Tuesday in Jensen Beach, Fla.

But the Western North Carolina softball team is still in the running to repeat as champion at the Babe Ruth 16U World Series.

Tuesday night’s losers bracket semifinal between Madison and Aftershock (Texas) was suspended in the second inning by rain. There is no score yet. The game is scheduled to resume Wednesday at 9 a.m.

The double-elimination tournament runs through Thursday.

Madison is 4-1 so far and was the top seed coming out of pool play. Madison beat Aftershock, 16-0, to start the tournament on Saturday.
