MARINE CITY – A balanced scoring effort paced the Marine City girls basketball team Tuesday in its 43-27 victory over St. Clair High School.
Karyssa Austin had 11 points, Paige Tranchida scored 10 points and Antonia Potvin added nine points in the Macomb Area Conference Gold Division victory.
Brooke Mahn paced St. Clair with nine points.
“It’s another rivalry game,” Marine City coach Jeff Austin said. “(Last Friday) when Marysville took it to us, we came out tense and tight and our youth showed. Tonight, we came out much more relaxed. We started out good and took it from there.”
Marine City (1-1, 7-1) will return home Thursday against Roseville.

MEMPHIS – Jenna Lesch scored 13 points and Rachel Sexton added 12 for Memphis (0-4, 1-8) in the North Central Thumb League loss.
Kayla Essenmacher scored 11 points for Bad Axe.
ARMADA – Kelsey Gustafson scored 14 points and had nine rebounds for Armada as they improved to 4-0 in the Blue Water Area Conference. Carly Zebelian had 12 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Lindsey Treblecock scored six for Algonac.
Armada (6-2) travels Friday to Imlay City.
MARYSVILLE – Payton Husson led the Vikings with 18 points. Devan Valko added 13, including going 11-13 at the foul line.

MARLETTE – Haley Cross scored 21 points for Marlette in the victory. Kelly MacKenzie added 13 points.
BROWN CITY 56
BROWN CITY – Skye Willer had 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for Brown City. Kristie Wheeler scored 12, with seven rebounds. Lorin Gierman also had seven rebounds, scoring 10 points.
IMLAY CITY 62
IMLAY CITY – Kim Charney scored 23 points for Yale in the BWAC victory. Cyrena Panutich added 16 points and Mariel Kincaid added 11 points.
PECK – Katelyn Frostic scored 13 points for Carsonville-Port Sanilac in the NCTL victory.
Natasha Kendal added six.
YALE – The Bulldogs jumped on the Tigers in the first half, taking a 42-17 lead into halftime in their BWAC win.
Austin Gentner led Yale with 14 points and five blocks. Cody Kegley and Josh McClelland each scored 13 points and combined for nine assists.
Armada was led by Fred Lawson and his 14 points.

ST. CLAIR 56
ST. CLAIR – Mario Mattson dropped 18 points for St. Clair, but it wasn’t enough as they fall to 1-1 in the MAC Gold.
Eric Williams also scored 16 for the Saints while Ben Davidson added 12 points.
MARYSVILLE – DeShaun Kelley scored 13 points Tuesday for Marysville in its MAC Silver victory.
Brady Beedon added 10 points for the Vikings (2-0, 4-1), which will return Friday at South Lake.
PORT HURON 74
ST. CLAIR SHORES – Tremaine Lee had 19 points and eight rebounds for Port Huron in the MAC Blue victory. Jovon Thomason added 18 points and seven assists for the Big Reds.
Jordan Wyckoff scored 16 points to lead Lakeview.
Port Huron (2-0, 4-2) will return Friday at Anchor Bay.

Cameron Koch had 20 points, six rebounds and four steals for Landmark Academy. Lake Shannon added 12 points, five assists and five steals and Nick Woodruff had 11 points and six rebounds.
CROSWELL – Evan Kratt paced Richmond with 20 points in the BWAC win. Matthew Kettlewell and Colin McDonald each scored 11 points for Cros-Lex in the loss. Brad Pedri added 12 points for Richmond.
Cros-Lex will return Friday at Almont while Richmond will head to Capac.
