Mary Persons high’s boys soccer team kicks off its playoff journey Wednesday night against Bainbridge.
The Bulldogs finished 10-1 in the region, and earned a region champion banner. They still want one more title before the season comes to an end, though.
It’s a fine line to carry that momentum from a region championship, without forgetting what’s at stake in the state playoffs.
These guys can’t wait to get started.
“A lot of guys really expected to be in this position,” head coach Allen Luton said at practice on Monday. “We were happy when we clinched the region, but we were definitely not satisfied.”
“It’s just one of the goals, but it’s not the peak,” senior Addison Chapman stated.
“We’re hoping we can make it farther than we ever have before,” senior Ryan Shepard added. “[We are] really making this year our best year ever, and finishing out our senior year strong.”
Mary Persons and Bainbridge kick off at 6:30 Wednesday night in Forsyth, Ga.
