The South Lyon Matcats wrestling club was busy again, successfully competing in two tournaments over the weekend.
“Both tournaments had clubs with more kids than us and we were still able to win each by over 50 points,” coach Steve Richardson said. “Our kids are really doing well this year. We are so excited for regionals, where we hope to qualify our largest number ever to the state finals.”
One of the highlights for Richardson was all three Nauss siblings – Antonio, Sabrina and Dominic – placing first Saturday. That’s the first time the club has had three siblings win championships on the same day. Also, Wyatt Lees won championships both days. Drew Abrams earned his first pin of the year.
