DUNCAN FALLS – Maysville highlighted the area effort as seven of the nine Muskingum Valley League squads took part in the annual league relays Tuesday at the Philo Athletic Complex.
Maysville’s Taylor Touvell captured the shot (33-7) and teammate Alexus Bell took the discus (109-5) to lead the girls team, while Tristan Murphy, Tanner Foster, Chase Himmelspach and Foulon Sheppard won the 400 relay (:45.1); Daniel Curtis, Connor Wright, Adam Dietz and Ashton Shook were first in the 6400 relay (21:13); the meter shuttle hurdle relay won in 1:08.7; Andrew Presley took the high jump (5-8), Laken Bunting claimed the pole vault (10-0), and Himmelspach captured the long jump (19-11 1/2) for the boys.
Morgan’s Brandi Ross, Mackenzi Clemens, Jozi Brown and Cheyenne Hanson were first in the 3200 relay (11:30) and 6400 relay (24:17); Tayler Smith, Sarah Beam and Jasmine and Jordan Penrod won the distance medley (13:32); Alyssa Tabler tied for first in the pole vault (8-6) for the girls, and Ben Thompson, John Thompson, Matt Mercer and Trace Schaad were first in the boys distance medley (12:07).
John Glenn won the girls meter shuttle hurdle (1:11.84); Maria Johnson won the high jump (5-0); Karlie Zumbro claimed the long jump (15-11) and triple jump (33-4); and Leisha Price tied for first in the pole vault (8-6).
Karly Bruns, Ellie Wolfe, Samantha Evans and Taylor Evans won the 400 relay (:53.0), while Payton Henderson won the boys shot (47-3) and discus (142-3) to highlight Philo’s effort.
New Lexington’s Andrea Steen, Sarah Frey, Brooklyn Roby and Maria Fondale claimed the 800 sprint medley relay in 2:09.3, while West Muskingum’s Taylor Knowlton, Jaden Gianettino, Brandt Brennan and Cameron Strauss were first in the boys 800 sprint medley (1:48.7) and teammate Jeremy Moore was first in the triple jump (33-6).
