Maysville junior pitcher Madison Riggle piled up 17 strikeouts as the visiting Panthers took down Coshocton 3-0 in a nonleague game Tuesday.

Riggle allowed only three base runners and one hit on an Amia Woods’ one-out single in the third inning that put runners on first and second base. Riggle responded with a strikeout to end the inning.

It proved a key point.

The Panthers (2-0) responded with a three-run fourth inning behind Sydney Shreve’s bunt that plated Kelsie Farmer and Kori Sidwell’s one-out, two-run single with the bases loaded.

Riggle finished it off, capping a performance that saw her strike out the side five times.

Pitcher Peighton Gore was steady for the Redskins (1-1), allowing seven hits with no walks and eight strikeouts.
