Former Roberson softball standout Izzy McCurry will have a new college home starting with the 2015-16 school year.
McCurry has committed to play for Campbell.
McCurry is currently an outfielder for Chattanooga State (Tenn.) Community College and batted .419 with 42 RBIs, 30 run scores and 16 home runs in 38 games as a freshman.
McCurry will play one final season for Chattanooga State this spring.
In high school, McCurry was the 2013 Citizen-Times All-WNC Player of the Year and the Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year after batting a school-record .545 with 42 hits, 36 RBIs, 17 walks and 10 home runs.
McCurry set the NCHSAA record for career home runs (40), which has since been broken, earning her a spot in Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd” feature.
Owen graduate Stephanie Jones is presently a senior outfielder and former two-time All-Big South Conference player at Campbell.
