(WZZM) – This weeks Meijer Scholar Athlete features a senior student from Grandville High School.
Rachael Braginton is a two sport athlete who plays varsity soccer and basketball.
She carries a 3.86 GPA while taking two AP classes along with honors physics and is a member of the National Honors Society. After college, Braginton plans on attending Hope to play soccer for the Flying Dutchman.
Braginton said, although athletics is a big part of her life, it’s important to make time for academics fist.
“It can be difficult when things start to pile up otherwise its pretty normal for me. I have been around it for a long time but when I have basketball, soccer and then a load on my AP classes it can get tricky. I would say, just make time. Make time to cut out of your schedule to work on academics because if that starts to crumble it’s going to ruin your sports and other chances.”
