MERIDIAN — Meridian High School will honor long time baseball coach Mo Brooks Thursday night before the Warriors host rival Eagle at 6 p.m.
Between 1968 and 2002, Brooks lead the Warriors to seven district championships, eight league championships, 19 state appearances, and two state titles. In his 33 years as head coach, Brooks earned a 720-353 (.671%) overall record.
In 2000, Brooks was inducted into the Idaho Baseball Hall of Fame after earning numerous accolades including eight Coach of the Year titles, three State Coach of the Year titles, two northwest Coach of the Year awards, and was named the Gatorade Coach of the Year in 1992.
12 of his former players have been drafted by MLB teams.
