The Mountain Home Junior Bomber football team started its season on the winning track with an 8-6 victory at Berryville on Thursday night.
The Junior Bobcats scored on a fake punt in the second quarter for a 6-0 lead, and the Junior Bombers did not take the lead until the fourth. Hunter Schad scored on a 3-yard touchdown run, and quarterback Joey Martin ran in the two-point conversion for the 8-6 lead.
Mountain Home also won the eighth-grade contest, 30-0, scoring 22 in the second half.
Stephen Litty scored on a 5-yard touchdown and Hunter Preis added the two-point conversion in the first half for Mountain Home. The Eighth Grade Bombers received two touchdowns and a two-point conversion from Will Gross in the second half and James Swartz added a two-point run for a 24-0 lead. Hayden Rowland added a 6-yard touchdown run for the final score.
