Milford boys basketball made the most of its only game last week with a 60-48 road win against Livonia Franklin.
Kyle Valden had a huge night, with a career-high 20 points to go with 11 rebounds. Sam Jaklic also had career-high 14 points, to go with five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Connor Young added nine points and four assists.
“Our seniors led the way,” coach David Gilbert said. “It was great to have Sam and Kyle have career-highs on the same night and Connor did a great job being our floor general.
“Devin Vogel had a strong fourth quarter to help us seal the win.”
Milford led after each quarter, 13-11 after one and 22-19 by halftime. The Mavs had a 39-31 edge heading into the fourth.
“It was a good game for us as far as getting a road win that we should have gotten and bouncing back after a tough loss last Friday,” Gilbert said. “We didn’t play our best, but found a way to win. It was our best passing game of the year as we had 13 assists to only eight turnovers.
“It was a nice way to start the end-of-season stretch.”
Milford improves to 6-10. Franklin remains winless at 0-17.
