Mo Williams set the Minnesota Timberwolves’ single-game scoring record with 52 points Tuesday night in a 110-101 victory against the Indiana Pacers.
The victory snapped Minnesota’s 15-game losing streak and the 52 points were the most this season in the NBA.
But when he got on Twitter after the game, the first thing he did was give a shout-out to his nephew, Malik Newman, one of the top high school players in the nation.
Newman, from Callaway High in Jackson, Miss., has been dominant, including scoring 90 points in a single day at a holiday tournament — 40 in the semifinal in the morning and 50 in the final in the evening.
Williams is a Jackson native and went to Murrah High before his career at Alabama.
