Moeller senior quarterback Thomas MacVittie (knee strain) is expected to return Week 4, Moeller coach John Rodenberg told Cincinnati.com Saturday afternoon.
MacVittie, who is 6 feet 4 and 215 pounds, left Friday’s game against Indianapolis Cathedral with 3:09 left of the third quarter. He walked off the field on his own. He did not play in the fourth quarter. He was 7 of 14 passing for 117 yards and two touchdowns before he left the game.
Junior quarterback Evan Ernst played in MacVittie’s absence.
MacVittie, who is verbally committed to Pittsburgh, is expected to return Sept. 18 when the Crusaders host Don Bosco Prep (N.J.) at 7 p.m. at Lockland.
Moeller plays host to Huber Heights Wayne at 4 p.m. Sept. 6 at Lockland. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
