COTTER — Former Mountain Home Lady Bombers and current University of Arkansas runner Samantha Mohler posted the fastest time by a male or female, taking first place in the half marathon (13.1 miles) race Saturday at the White River Marathon for Kenya in Cotter.

Mohler, 21, stopped the clock in 1 hour, 18 minutes, 17.6 seconds to win the event, while another 21-year-old, Jordan Brimer of Jonesboro, was the men’s half marathon champion in a time of 1:22.30.

Mountain Home’s Jake Anderson was second among the men in 1:23.59, while 17-year-old David Byrd of Mountain Home was third in 1:28.18.

Amy Pinegar of Springfield, Mo., was second among women, finishing in 1:27.22, and Jennifer Brodersen of Springfield was third in 1:36.24.

Male age division winners of the half marathon were: 10-year-old Hendrix Hughes of Mountain Home (ages 13-and-under), Hunt Nosari of Mountain Home (14-19), Doug Golann of St. Louis (25-29), Adam McCall of Harrison (30-34), Chad Payne of Harrison (35-39), Josh Hayes of Fayetteville (40-44), Ron Stafford of Cassville, Mo. (45-49), Greg Shannon of West Plains, Mo. (50-54), Greg Nicholas of Greensburg, Ind. (55-59), Frank Cottey of Springfield (60-64), Richard Hester of Mountain Home (65-69), and Mike Breton of Theodosia, Mo. (70-and-over).

Female age division winners of the half marathon were: Kristen Ricks of Conway (ages 14-19), Carly Shannon of West Plains (20-24), Jacqueline Kimmel of Hatboro, Pa. (25-29), Amanda Cottrell of Calico Rock (30-34), Gretchen Smeltzer of Mountain Home (35-39), Stacy Ludwig of Spencer, Neb. (40-44), Alison Hester of Mountain Home (45-49), Pat Cagle of Pocahontas (50-54), Becky Clark of Norman, Okla. (55-59), Marie Brewer of Mineola, N.Y. (60-64), Cynthia MacPherson of Mountain Grove, Mo. (65-69), and Judy Bomer of Tulsa, Okla. (70-and-over).

5K results

Todd Wilkins, 53, of Springfield, Mo., and 13-year-old Marcie Cudworth of Mountain Home each won overall championships of the 5K (3.1-mile) race.

Wilkins finished in 20 minutes, 29.1 seconds, while Cudworth, a member of the Junior Lady Bomber cross country team, finished in 20:44.0.

Mountain View’s Canyon Vickers was second among the men in 22:35.1, while Mountain Home’s Chris Cudworth was third in 23:39.5.

Mountain Home’s Emma Martin placed second among the women in a time of 23:45.3, while Chaelann Vickers of Mountain View was third in 25:17.6.

Male age division winners in the 5K were: Camyn Vickers of Mountain View (13-and-under), Gage Mayfield-Boyle of St. Joe (14-19), Chris Burkhart of Mountain Home (20-24), Shannon White of Mountain Home (35-39), Neal Palmer of Memphis (40-44), Chris Cruse of Mountain Home (45-49), Rod Mathewson of Springfield (50-54), Ray Trower of Russellville (55-59), Billy McLain of Bryant (60-64), Joe Edmonds of Mountain Home (65-69), and Dennis Crider of West Plains, Mo.
