Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.), which finished last season as the No. 1 team, moved up to No. 2 in the first regular-season Super 25 boys basketball rankings. The Eagles, who were No. 3 in the preseason rankings, are 4-0, including a 76-70 defeat of then-No. 18 Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.) as Simi Shittu had 20 points.

La Lumiere (La Porte, Ind.) is No. 3, climbing from No. 6 after an 8-0 start to the season. The Lakers’ closest win was a 79-70 defeat of Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville, Fla.) in the championship of the Coventry Tournament of Champions in Washington, Ill., as Brandon Cyrus had 17 points.

There are four new teams, led by No. 11 Moreau Catholic (Hayward, Calif.), which opened the season with a 60-59 defeat of then-No. 10 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) as Damari Millstead had 20 points, six rebounds and four steals Saturday.

The other new teams: No. 16. Greenforest Christian (Decatur, Ga.); No. 17. Westerville South (Westerville, Ohio); and No. 25 Apple Valley, Minn.
