CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mooresville quarterback Caleb Lloyd-Klucking connected with Johnathan Knox with 26 seconds remaining to lift Mooresville to a 23-16 victory over rival Lake Norman.
For Mooresville, it was a sweet taste of revenge after Josh Ladowski and the Wildcats beat the Blue Devils 40-38 last season on their way to a deep run in the state playoffs.
Both defenses ruled most of the game, with the two teams combining to convert just four of 21 third down opportunities. Lake Norman quarterback Hayden Carlson completed 17-of-34 passes for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but five turnovers doomed the Wildcats’ bid to win.
Mooresville will close out the regular season against North Iredell at home.
