Western North Carolina baseball’s future is in good hands.

Five players from Christ School, Murphy, North Henderson and Reynolds received all-tournament recognition following the Perfect Game 15U World Wood Bat Association championship held July 17-24 in Emerson, Ga.

Ivann Rodriguez (North Henderson) and Graham Hooker (Christ School) pitched for the Southern Athletics organization.

Rodriguez threw 6.1 innings with four hits, two walks and five strikeouts. He won a game and had a 0.00 earned-run average. Hooker made one appearance, going six innings with five hits, nine strikeouts and two walks. He maintained a 2.33 ERA.

Josh Dotson (Reynolds) enjoyed two impressive outings for the Evoshield Canes Central organization. He pitched eight innings and allowed two hits and a walk with 12 strikeouts. Dotson also pitched a perfect game.

Kyle Decker (North Henderson) batted .421 for SBA Marucci with a .560 on-base percentage. He collected six RBIs to go along with eight runs, five walks and a half-dozen stolen bases.

Royce Peterson (Murphy) also hit .421 with nine RBIs and a pair of doubles for the Georgia Jayhawks program.
