MRA quarterback Hayden Davis will likely miss the remainder of the 2015 season with an ACL injury

Madison-Ridgeland Academy junior quarterback Hayden Davis tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the Patriots 41-20 loss at St. Martin on Friday.

Davis went down with an injury early in the first quarter and did not return to action.

MRA coach Herbert Davis confirmed to The Clarion-Ledger that his son will have surgery to repair the ACL and meniscus in his left knee this week.

It’s the third injury for Hayden Davis dating back to his freshman year. He won the starting quarterback job at Lawrence County as a 9th grader before being sidelined with a right knee injury in the Cougars sixth game of the 2013 season. Last year, Davis missed several weeks of his first season at MRA with an injury to his left ankle. He returned for the Patriots runner-up finish in the MAIS AAA-Division I championship game.
