Mountain Vista beats Denver East Jan. 22

KUSA — Friday, Jan. 23, the Mountain Vista Eagles shattered the Ralston Valley hockey team’s 38-game winning streak with a 4-3 victory. The Eagles are a highly skilled team, ranked 7th in Colorado high school hockey.

Every team in the league wanted to be the team to take down the back-to-back state champs as well as shatter a winning streak as large as the Mustangs’. However, the Eagles were the first to accomplish a victory in insurmountable odds.

After being down 2-0 in the second, 3-2 later in the third, and killing off a 5-3 Ralston power play, the Mountain Vista hockey team powered through and finished the game on top. A late goal from #8 Jake Dosen, with traffic in front, gave the Eagles the big win and 9-1-1 overall record so far this season.

Mountain Vista will play away against a 5-6 Pueblo County hockey team Monday, Jan. 26.
