Plenty of top players were at the annual Mustang Madness in Paducah, Ky., and that meant plenty of top college coaches too.

On Friday night, Kansas coach Bill Self was in the house and on Saturday, Kentucky coach John Calipari was among those in the stands.

Calipari had specific interest in the showdown between Huntington (W.Va.) Prep and Callaway (Jackson, Miss.) with targets Thomas Bryant playing for Huntington and Malik Newman for Callaway.

Callaway earned a 72-66 victory against Huntington, ranked No. 8 in the nation in the Super 25. Newman was named the game’s MVP with 35 points, 14 rebounds. Bryant posted 34 points and 15 rebounds.

In other games Saturday at Mustang Madness:

* Orangeville Prep (St. Catherines, Ontario) defeated Prolific Prep (California) 63-55.

* Prime Prep (Dallas) beat Our Savior New American (Centerreach, N.Y.) 74-72 in overtime.

* Arlington County Day (Jacksonville, Fla.) beat Sunrise Christian (Wichita, Kan.) 51-48.
