Josh Jackson, the No. 1 overall player in the Class of 2016 by Rivals.com, was ejected from the bench Wednesday night during the first night of games at the Under Armour All America showcase, according to The Sporting News.

Jackson (Prolific Prep) returned to the United States after leading Team USA to the gold medal at the FIBA Under 19 World Championships in Greece on Sunday.

He was not in uniform for the game and was sitting on the bench in sweats for Team Innovate at the event in Charlotte, N.C. Early in the game, Jackson and one of the referees began sniping at each other.

After a few more possessions, the referee stopped play and ejected Jackson from the bench.

According to The Sporting News, camp staff was joking with Jackson as he left “don’t worry” because “we won’t see that ref in here tomorrow.”

Jackson responded to the ejection by saying, “He told me to shut up. Ain’t nobody gonna talk to me like that” before exiting. He remained in a players’ lounge area but did not return to watch the game.

Team Innovate won the game 98-93 against Team Clutch.

Among the big stars on opening night was Thon Maker, who recorded 23 points and 17 rebounds for Team Energy.
