New Albany is the new No. 1 boys basketball team in the latest Indiana Basketball Coaches Association state poll.
The Bulldogs (1-0) started the season No. 2 and rose to the top spot with a loss by Southport. The Cardinals suffered a 53-52 setback at home to Merrillville on Saturday.
The Class 4-A Associated Press poll will be released later today. The IBCA poll does not divide teams into classes.
New Albany, which opened with a 72-68 win at Bloomington South, will host Evansville Harrison on Saturday.
