Philip Hall won two events Tuesday to lead the Newark boys during a season-opening quad against Zanesville, Maysville and Philo.

Hall won the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke (1:11.09). Jacob Todd added a second in the 50 freestyle (32.16) and third in the 100 free (1:16.17).

In the girls meet, Sarah Houpt placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:21.26), and Kaitlyn LeFevre placed second in the 500 free (7:28.19).

Houpt, LeFevre, Valerie Bowman and Elizabeth Bowman were second in the 200 free relay, and Robyn Thomson, Alysa Pipkin, Chyanne Boyd and Sara Cordle were second in the 400 free relay (6:40.16).
