Newark’s swimmer Wheeler has a strong night

Newark swim team competed against Lakewood. Rebekah Wheeler started off her strong night by placing second in the 50 free (33.83). She later followed that performance with a first place finish in the 400 free (6:37.98). Teammate Kaitlyn LeFevre finished just behind Wheeler in both events. She was third in the 50 free (36.91) and second in the 400 free (6:39.88). Elizabeth Bowman was third in the 200 free with a time of 3:22.43.

Phillip Hall had a pair of first place finishes to lead the boys team. Hall was first in the 50 free (28.83) and followed it with a first place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:13.11). Ian Murphy was third in the 50 free (34.07).
