Quarterback Bailey Hockman threw three touchdown passes to lead the Indians to a 34-14 defeat of Buford, Ga., ending the Wolves’ winning streak at 42 games. Making McEachern’s win more impressive was that Buford beat Eastern Christian Academy (Elkton, Md.) two weeks ago and ECA defeated then-No. 13 Paramus (N.J.) Catholic 42-20 on Friday.

The other new teams are No. 24 Spartanburg, S.C., and No. 25 Jenks, Okla. Spartanburg improved to 2-0 as running back Tavien Feaster ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns, had two touchdown catches and returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown in a 49-20 defeat of Union County (Union) on Saturday. Jenks defeated defending 6A-II state champion Bixby 58-24 Friday as Cooper Nunley threw three touchdown passes.

Besides Paramus, No. 24 Mililani, Hawaii, fell out with a 43-16 loss at Liberty (Henderson, Nev.) and No. 25 Chandler, Ariz., dropped out as well.
