Senior Chris LoMauro, junior Spencer Matthews, junior Lucas Inglis and sophomore Nick Panicali led the No. 9 Colts Neck boys volleyball team to a dramatic come-from-behind, 2-1, Class A North victory over visiting No. 2 Christian Brothers Academy on Monday afternoon.
The Cougars (5-2, 4-0) lost the first game 20-25 to the Colts (5-4, 4-1) but they rallied for 25-22 and 26-24 wins in the second and third games, respectively to secure only their second all-time victory over CBA (first victory since 2008), according to Colts Neck boys volleyball coach Glenn Jansen.
“In my 13 years it’s the second biggest victory. It is a result of the senior leadership combined with four of our underclassmen playing club in the off season. Anytime you can beat one of the best programs in the Shore Conference, it’s a good day,” Jansen said.
