The North won 61/2 out of a possible eight points in singles match play Sunday to claim a 12-4 victory in the North-South all-star golf matches at the Golden Bear Country Club at Indigo Run on Hilton Head Island.
Eight seniors were chosen to represent each team, two from each classification. The North team was comprised of Zach Bishop (Travelers Rest), Matt Carter (Easley), Jonathan Costello (Byrnes), Michael McKee (Ware Shoals), Sawyer Mills (Wren), Weston Sanders (Emerald), Coleman Self (Emerald) and Matthew Terry (Pageland Central).
The North was coached by Greenwood’s Chip Whitt and Palmetto’s Stan Yarborough.
The format was similar to that of the Ryder Cup. The first round was was modified alternate shot, teaming up two players from each side. The second round was best ball, again teaming up two players from each side.
The North led 51/2-21/2 after two rounds.
