HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Maybe the biggest turnaround in the state belongs to Brad Baker’s North Meck Vikings.

The Vikings put everyone in the state on notice Friday night, upsetting Vance 20-14, putting themselves in the driver’s seat for a potential conference championship. The Vikings have won seven of their last eight games.

North Meck quarterback Kendall Coles was efficient, completing seven of 11 passes with a touchdown. He also carried the ball 11 times for 49 yards and the game-winning score.

Next week Baker’s team will host Hough next week before wrapping up the regular season against Mallard Creek.
