North Union will play Saturday in a Central District championship softball game.
The top-seeded Lady Cats (24-4) will meet fourth-seeded Liberty Union (18-8) at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pickerington High School Central for a Division III district title.
North Union advanced with a district semifinal win Wednesday while three other Mid Ohio Athletic Conference teams were ousted from tourney action.
North Union 4, Northridge 3
LEWIS CENTER – North Union scored twice in the final inning to nip Northridge 4-3.
Emily Clark hit a home run for North Union, a solo shot in the first inning. That came after Northridge (14-11) had scored twice in the top of the first frame.
North Union tied the game with a run in the second before falling behind 3-2 in the third inning.
Tori Hart doubled and homered for Northridge.
Granville 3, River Valley 0
LEWIS CENTER – River Valley was held to only two hits in a 3-0 Div. II loss to Granville (23-6).
Morgan Lott and Claire Nicholson both singled for the Lady Vikings (19-8). Three errors in the field hurt the RV cause as Lady Viking pitchers Shalynn Call and Cassady Starkey allowed only one earned run.
Winning pitcher Abby Barker struck out eight.
Bloom-Carroll 11, Pleasant 1, 6 innings
PICKERINGTON – Georgie Stacy’s solo home run in the first inning was the lone hit for Pleasant as the Lady Spartans fell to Bloom-Carroll 11-1 in a game called after six innings due to the run rule.
Pleasant (15-10) trailed 2-1 in the sixth when Bloom-Carroll ended the game with nine runs.
Taran Alvelo hurled the one-hitter for Bloom-Carroll (23-4), and she also smacked a two-run home run in the sixth inning.
Liberty Union 8, Cardington-Lincoln 5
LEWIS CENTER – Liberty Union broke open a close game with three runs in the sixth inning of an 8-5 Div. III win over Cardington-Lincoln.
Cardington-Lincoln (26-3) trailed 5-4 before Liberty Union (18-8) posted its big inning.
